This is an anthology of essays on environmental thinking. The topics covered range from the history of viewing the environment in diverse cultures and times(Indigenous populations, India, China, Christianity etc. to various scientific and philosophical modes of treating environmental aspects (Ecology, Deep Ecology, Aesthetics, Populations, Law, Climate etc.) Although as in any anthology the essays vary in quality and usefulness, on the whole it is a very good over-view of the issues and the field. All the essays have in depth bibliographies and almost all the authors have an internet link listed if you wish to contact them for furher information. Recommended.
